Why we believe your baby needs probiotics:

Essentially we believe colic is the result of immature gut and many babies are slow to build their Microbiome which is the
bacterial community that lives in and on their bodies. It is crucial to have high levels of beneficial bacteria for this
community to function effectively and digest milk protein effectively to cut down on wind production.

Breastfeeding provides essential nutrients for growth and specific probiotic bacterial strains essential for healthy digestion, immune
system development and neurodevelopment. In some mums the breastmilk probiotic levels can be compromised by the use of
antibiotics during pregnancy, birth and lactation. This could be why up to 70% of Caesar babies may develop colic symptoms.

We recommend the use of Qiara – a unique probiotic containing Lactobacillus Fermentum CECT5716 which is isolated from
human breast milk. Qiara enhances the development of an immature gut thus eliminating one of the major causes if
colic in babies plus it has been proven to reduce overall infant infections by 30%, hence most babies using Qiara will require less bottles of Willby’s Colic Mix.

Qiara comes in two forms:

Qiara Pregnancy & Breastfeeding is taken by mums during pregnancy & while lactating to support a healthy microbiome & may help suppress the bacteria that causes mastitis. Taken from 32 weeks & throughout the duration of breastfeeding, it helps to lay the foundations for healthy infant development, digestive function, nervous system and immune function. It is particularly important for breastfeeding mums after a caesarean birth, or any exposure to antibiotics.

Qiara Infant is designed for supplementation of formula fed babies who do not receive direct probiotics contained in breast milk. It is the same breastmilk strain as in the Qiara Pregnancy & Breastfeeding probiotic – but in a dose appropriate to be given directly to the baby via addition to formula. It may help to optimise gut & general infant health, restore, build and maintain beneficial bacteria levels & protect against infection. It is particularly important for infants that have been born by caesarean, or have had any exposure to antibiotics.
